Time of Use

OG&E's Time-Of-Use plan rewards you for lowering your usage during peak demand hours in the summer months. It costs more to generate electricity on summer weekdays from 2-7 p.m. – those are peak hours. But all other times are off-peak, and about half the price you pay today on a standard price plan. OG&E’s TOU pricing reflects those cost differences so you save by simply shifting your electricity use to off-peak times of the day or night or weekends.
While at home, many customers ...
- Do laundry and dishes off peak.
- Cook evenings, mornings or weekends.
- Turn off lights and computers when not in use.
- Pre-cool the home, then turn up the thermostat in the afternoon.
- Shut off pool and hot tub pumps during peak hours, without affecting water quality – and much more.
Or while at work, our business customers ...
- Turn off all lights and computers at the end of the day.
- Pre-cool their building during off peak, then turn up the thermostat a few degrees in the afternoon.
- Use ceiling fans to make it feel cooler for workers and customers.

It's no risk! During the first year of TOU, OG&E promises to credit your account the full difference should you pay more for electricity used than you would have paid on the standard price plan.
